We call on you to join us in campaigning against a worrying development: the World Food Programme (WFP) has renewed its controversial partnership with Palantir, just as the WFP prepares to lead UN-wide supply chain reforms (UN80).
Tech for Bad, ETC Group, IT for Change, along with the Global Digital Justice Forum, are calling on civil society organizations, digital rights advocates, humanitarian workers, food sovereignty advocates, researchers, and concerned citizens to urge that the WFP end this partnership with Palantir Technologies.
Our campaign began with this investigation by Tech for Bad, in June 2026, which examined the expanding role of Palantir’s Foundry platform across WFP’s data ecosystem and raised questions about transparency, data governance, and the implications of the partnership for wider UN supply-chain reforms. This was followed in August by reporting on a leaked 2025 WFP audit, which identified high-priority concerns relating to privacy, risk management, and governance. The WFP has since reportedly renewed its partnership with Palantir for a further five years, making questions about the partnership’s terms, oversight, and longer-term implications particularly timely.
This open letter to the World Food Programme details the most pressing concerns around this deal, asks questions that the WFP has not answered, and makes ten demands of the WFP to meet this moment with the transparency, caution, and accountability that the world’s most vulnerable people deserve.
